Problems with Tab Control

Hi all:
I am having trouble with the background color of the tab
control being white as opposed to the default color of
gray. Does anyone know why this would occur? I have
uninstalled Office 2K3 and any previous versions of
office and reinstalled to no avail. I have used various
registry cleaners etc but have no clue as to how to get
the backcolor to return to its default. The white is just
plain ugly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Barry.

This is Microsoft's idea of how the tab control should look under Windows
XP.

You can set it to Transparent of another color if you turn off Themes.

Right-click the desktop, and choose properties.
On the Themes tab, set the theme to:
Windows Classic
