Problems with the ¶ show all setting.

[Unable to turn off the ¶ setting.]

I am not able to disengae the ¶ in my word documents. Even when the icon on
the tooldbar is not active, the ¶ bar always appear on all my word documents.

Any idea on how to Turn this off?

I have uninstalled my MS Office completely and have reinstalled it and that
setting simply does not turn off. I simply want my documents to not show the
¶, in all my Word documents.

The Show/Hide ¶ button toggles only the items that are not explicitly
checked on the View tab of Tools | Options. Go there and clear *all* the
boxes under "Formatting marks."
