Problems with the "Find" feature in Outlook XP

I hope someone can assist with this nagging problem. We recently performed a
migration from 2000 Exchange to 2003 Exchange at a client site. A few months
later I received a call from the onsite technician that they were having
issues when performing a "find" for emails. It would start from the date
before the Migration and go back to the end and then from the recent emails
to the day of the migration. I connected through my VPN and configured my
Outlook and when I performed a find it displayed all the emails from that day
to the start of my account. I am running Outlook 2003 while most of the
company is still running XP version. I instructed him to export his mailbox
into a pst, delete all the message and then import the pst back which would
fix the indexing problem he seemed to be having. He got back to me that it
in fact did fix the problem and now when he does a search it starts from the
last email back to present day. He needs it to go from present day to
oldest. I had him click on the received header which would sort in that
order but he says this is not good enough and it needs to do this by default.
Does anyone have fix for this permenently whenever you do a find for Outlook
XP?

Thanks in advance.
