I believe my problem is a result of importing a database from Access 97 on an older computer (circa 1998) to Access 2002 on a new computer purchased this summer. Unplanned and unwanted data is being automatically entered into fields where a text field follows a number field. For example, I have a field named "Total of families" with the property set at "number" data type. I use this field to total the number of families receiving our company's services. The next field is "Date Data Entered" with the property set as "text" data type. When I have entered "1" for family, I then press enter and find a "2" automatically entered as the first digit of the date to be entered. I originally thought I was accidently hitting the "2" key but
when I used only my index finger to hit the keys (aka: hunt and peck technique), I still get "2" as an automatic entry without my finger moving to press the next key.
Please give any suggestions you have for correcting this.--
