I am having trouble getting videos to work in Powerpoint 2007. I have .avi
files that I am trying to align with the background image. In order to keep
file sizes small, we cropped the animation to only the area that is moving,
rather than having the entire 720x540 animation. My native platform is Mac,
and I've got them working there, but things are looking completely different
on the PC. Here are the problems I'm encountering:
-The video looks fine on the mac, and aligns well with the background. If I
open the .ppt on the PC (and I do have it in the same directory), the first
frame appears in the correct place, but the colors are shifted from the
background, and the video will not play.
-I tried inserting the video into the .ppt on the PC, and it comes in
noticeably smaller, although the movie format options tells me it's at 100%.
I can get it close by checking the "Best scale for slide show" option set to
720x512, which scales the video 133%. It shouldn't require scaling at all.
When I view the slide show, the image (especially text) is very degraded. On
the mac, the slide show view looks the same as the working view. Anyone have
a clue how I can get that to insert at the correct size, match the background
color and not degrade in slide view? I'm pretty new to powerpoint (and never
used video with it) so there may be settings I'm missing.
