problems with word freezing up

i have a dell w/ vista and word 2007 kept freezing and shutting down.
i was able to fix it by changing my printer default. i know this doesn't
make sense but give it a try. i changed my default setting to the microsoft
xps doc. default which it was set for kodak, this fixed my problem and now
word works fine.
