Probs printing a Merged doc from a 2 tray printer on letterhead

Paul Rouse

Hi I'm using Word 2002 with a HP Laserjet 2100TN using with PCL 5e
driver(with 2 tray feeder)

One tray has our letterhead paper in and the other has continuation
paper in.

When merging direct to the printer (so it prints 1,2, 1,2 etc) the
first page comes out on letterhead and all subsequent pages come out
on continuation paper. The printer settings are set correctly but it
only works on the first letter in any merge set.

The only way I have go this to work is to set the details in page
setup to print the first page from tray 2 of the printer and the 2nd
page to print from tray 3 - when set here it works? The settings in
the printer properties only seem to work for the first letter and then
it reverts to tray 3 for every other letter?

I have found examples of other people with the same problem in this
newsgroups but dont know if they were using the same printer or not?

http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?h...c3ece3%24c7300450%24a001280a%40phx.gbl&rnum=6

Is this a driver issue or a Word issue? Just as another note we used
to use word 2000 with the same printer and it worked FINE!

Posting a Macro to fix the problem is helpful but doesnt help in
determining the cause.

Thanks for any help

Use the following macro to send each letter to the printer as a separate
print job:

Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To ActiveDocument.Sections.Count
ActiveDocument.PrintOut Range:=wdPrintFromTo, From:="s" & i, To:="s" & i
Next i
