Procedures
You must start with having five vials. The solutions will be the
solute -Vitamin C, the solvent- water. The diluting trays will contain 10ml
of water to start dilutions 10ml will be added at a time if the solution has
to be less concentrated. Vials wont have a specific amount of diluted
Vitamin C added into each vial. It will be added until it's believed its
ready. The first vial will be the control group. It will have a
concentration (a measurement of the relative amount of solute in this case
Vitamin C and solvent- water in a solution) of 0 and a neutral PH of water.
Vial two will include 125mg of Vitamin C a water- soluble pill. This amount
will the solution less concentrated by diluting it by adding water for it to
have a concentration of 1/10 part per million (ppm) which will become
12.5ml. Vial three will contain 250mg of Vitamin C it will be diluted to
have a concentration of 1/100ppm which will end up to be 1.25ml. Vial four
will contain 325mg of Vitamin C it will be diluted into a concentration of
1/1,000ppm which is now 0.125ml. Vial five will have 500mg which will be
diluted a concentration of 1/10,000ppm which ends up to be 0.0125ml. After
all vials are prepared and ready to be use fly-nap the Drosophila's and only
use males. Add 10 males to each vial. Seat each vile down and every three
days for three weeks take your data.
