os: xp
ie: 6
office: 2003

i have been using producer for 3 yrs and it has been really good until 6
months ago. occassionally, it gives a 'blank' error (a big red X error with
no message) at the end of publishing a presentation. i checked the divx
setting, it is ok. i tried reinstalling, it is ok. the system is fully
patched. i am not using any template as some people suggested that is the
issue. do i just have to not use template and do the whole thing over from
scratch?

thanks.

Producer always uses some template to publish presentations.

The only thing I can assume from your "I am not using any template" is that
you have not added a supplied or custom template to the time line - which
would mean you are using the "default" template?

I cannot from your description determine what error you get -- a screen
snap would help. Or maybe a Pack and Go version of the presentation for
download to allow us to reproduce the problem(or both). Where is it that
this red X appears?

Hi.

I was using the standard template.

The error is a pop-up window with MICROSOFT PRODUCER FOR POWERPOINT on top,
a red circle with white X in the middle and no message.

Thanks.

I don't recall ever seeing anything like that.

Could your provide a Pack and Go version of the production for download and
post or email the url (or email it too me at briansullivan at
coursesbywire.com if it is not too large for emailing on your side). I will
have a look and see if it happens here and if I can spot what might be the
problem.
