I purchased the MS Office XP Small Business suite from
IBM with my new ThinkPad. I activated Office by telephone
using the Activation Wizard immediately after setting up
Windows.
One week later, due to some unsolvable problems caused by
trying to load non-XP compatible software, I was forced
to run the "Product Recovery" utility, which basically
wipes your hard drive clean so you can reload Windows
from scratch. After reloading Windows and Office XP, I
was asked to run the Office product activation wizard
again, which I did registering by telephone as before. I
assumed that in doing so, I could simply re-enter (into
boxes A, B, C, etc.) the product activation code numbers
I had been given previously. Not so. I was give a
completely new set of numbers to enter.
The problem now is that my name no longer appears in in
the box that says "This product is licensed to:" The line
after that is simply left blank. Is there any way to
change this so that my name appears as the licensed owner
of this software?
