My wife thew away the MS Office cd cover along with my
product key. Does anyone know what I can do to get
another one? Microsoft won't even talk to me without a
product key.

Why do you believe this problem is a Word application error? If you
have an OEM version of Word or Office that was preinstalled by your
computer's manufacturer, then you will have to contact your computer's
manufacturer for a new key. If you purchased a retail version of Word
or Office from a conventional or online retailer, then see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823570 "How to Obtain a New Product
Key for Office Program Setup".
