Product Key Does NOT Work....HELP

B

Brandy

I have a brand new hard copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student. I am
trying to set up my "Office Outlook", when prompted to enter my product key,
I do so and it tells me that the key is invalid. It is not invalid. What
should I do? Who do I contact?

Triple check the 0's and 1's - oh, and 8's. It's easy to misread 0/O, 1/l,
or B/8. (B/8 gets me a lot.)

H& S does not contain Outlook.
Maybe you installed H&S over a Trial version of Office, that probably
included Outlook

I have a brand new hard copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student.

A "brand new" copy Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 doesn't contain
Outlook so there's no way to install Outlook using the product key for that
software.

I have got the full version of Office Enterprise but the home & Student trial
is pre-installed on my notebook - I tried just entering the produce key but
obviously this didn't work. I have no CD rom (as it is a niotebook) do I
need to buy an external CD rom drive or is there a way I can just override
it somehow with the product key?

You'll have to uninstall the Home & Student trial first.
You can copy the installation files of Office Enterprise to a large enough
USB key (stick, dongle, thumb drive, or whatever they call it in your
country ;-)) and install from there. Copying the installation files from or
directly installing via a network share will work as well.
