product key for word

I have a new desktop that came with the home and student MS Office package
pre-installed. When I open word, it asks for a product key, which I have on
the backup CD. There is a dialog box with a place to enter the key, and a
"continue" button. As soon as I enter anything in the product key place, the
continue button is no longer clickable. So after entering the product key, I
cannot click on continue. Weird, huh?
