product key is incorrect

i just bought a compaq presario cq150-110us from circuit city i was trying to
activate the microsoft office program and it required me the product key , i
didn't even knew where it was, untili saw on the bottom of laptop that it
said product key # so i enter the number and it said it was incorrect even
though i write it 10 times, so i don't know what to do to get my computer to
work properly.

I suggest taking it back to Circuit City for them to fix.
Also check to see if they included the disk if you ever need to reload any
of the programs.

Sounds like maybe you are confusing "Windows Operating System" key- on the
bottom of computer vs. an MS Office key you will have to purchase- often it
is installed as a trial- later requiring the purchase/ key. Unless you..
gasp'.. went with openoffice.org free version which is similiar to M$ Office
