Product key not being accepted for validation

Hello - would love it if someone could help, I'm very frustrated!!

Recently purchased Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT)RED UPGRADE w/SP1 64 bit
via this site: www.digitalriver.com at a discounted student price. I had to
verify I was a student and the whole bit, so I'm pretty certain it's a
legitimate venue. I received my order confirmation along with the product
key. However after installation and trying to use the Office applications I'm
receiving the following error upon entering the key (copy and pasted directly
from the email): The key is incorrect. Verify that you have the correct key,
and then retype it.

Am I missing something?? The only thing I have for the key information is in
this confirmation email. I received a back-up copy through the mail but it
doesn't have anything on it. Now I feel like I'm out $65 and have a bunch of
software installed on my computer that is useless..............any advice??
Should I try entering the key without hyphens or something? I thought by
copying and pasting that I wouldn't have issues...

Appreciate your help...Wendie :)

Where exactly are you trying to copy and pasting the serial numbers? Is
it in Windows Vista Activation screen or is it in Office activation
key? What exactly did you buy from DigitalRiver? Is it the Office
product or is it Windows Vista? You are getting confused with Windows
Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate. Microsoft decided to have
similar names to confuse people so that they buy the wrong product!!!

Windows Vista Ultimate is for the Operating System and not for Office. Are you
trying to install it as Office? Aside from that you cannot use a 64bit Vista
Ultimate to Upgrade and OS that is 32 bit. Which version of Vista do you have
presently installed. Is it a 32 bit or a 64 bit.
Also there is no 64bit Office at this time

I apologize if my question was confusing. This is extremely confusing for me
as well! I guess I don't understand why I'm being asked for a key code when
trying to run Microsoft Word when I registered the entire Ultimate version to
begin with. Am I supposed to find a different key code for the program?

Did you download or had already have the Office Trial installed when you purchased
your computer by any chance
