Yes, it is possible to remove a key from Microsoft Office, provided that you
still have access to it. It her case, that might present a challenge.
In future, she should remove software from the machine if she intends
continue to use it herself.
However, the duplicate key that is causing her problem is on the same local
network as herself. So somewhere in your house, there are two machines
running with the same product key.
You need to find them, and change the key on one of them. Or make sure that
one of them is shut down while she is using the other. If you tell us which
version of Office you are using, we can tell you exactly how to change the
licence key.
Cheers
Is it possible to delete a product key from a computer that we no longer have
access to, similar to deauthorizing itunes accounts? My daughter gave away her
old ibook which must still have one of the registration keys. She now gets the
message that she is already using Word and gets a forced quit. Other than
buying a new copy of Office, is there anything we can do? Thanks.
