Product key problem

We just bought for my school the Office for Mac education edition with
3 product keys.

The first key was used on a MacBook then when we install the software
on a Mac Mini the istallation assistan never asked for another key...
and the word, powerpoint, etc... work with out any problem.
Then we installed on a MAC Pro...again without asking to enter another
product key... problems started.
Mac Mini and Mac Pro are conected to the same network... and the
message word sends is that we are sharing the software.

How can we check we are using different product key in each machine,
in order to avoid this problem.

By the way, when trying to find and answer, I read that a product key
can be used in a Desktop and in a Laptop... this is the same for MAC???

How did you install on the other macs? Did you just copy the installation
folder from the MacBook? If so, that will have copied the registration key
as well.

If you know which key was used on the MacBook, you can just 'deserialise'
the other two and next time you fire up an office app on them it will ask
for a product key - just ake sure you use a different on on each!

To deserialise, find the 'remove office' application on the relevant
computer. It should be here:

</Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office/Remove
Office>

Start up that application, and at the first screen hold down the Option key
- the 'Continue' button will change to 'remove license info only'. Click
that button!

Now, start any office app and enter a unique license key.
By the way, when trying to find and answer, I read that a product key

Yes, it is the same. You can _install_ on both, but you still can't use the
two installations _at_the_same_time_.

FWIW: Product IDs and CD Keys are not the same - a PID is generated when
you enter a CD key after installation.

The first key was used on a MacBook then when we install the software
on a Mac Mini the istallation assistan never asked for another key...
and the word, powerpoint, etc... work with out any problem.

Very bizarre. Each installation should require a new CD key. Are you
sure you're not using the Trial version on at least one of the machines
(before installing and updating Office you should run the Remove Office
application to remove the Trial version).
Mac Mini and Mac Pro are conected to the same network... and the
message word sends is that we are sharing the software.

That, as far as I know, could only happen if you entered the product key
(though I suppose it may be possible if you mirrored the hard drives).
How can we check we are using different product key in each machine,

See

http://www.mcgimpsey.com/macoffice/office/pid.html

You won't be able to tell which CD key is duplicated, but you can remove
the current PID and enter another key.

By the way, when trying to find and answer, I read that a product key

Yes, you can, but you may not use Office on both of them at the same
time. The Student & Teacher edition allow 3 simultaneous users - one per
license.
