I registered Office 98 but have been unable to find the
disk for quite some time. This of course isn't a problem
unless you need to reinstall it. Well, my hard drive died
and the back up I transfered to my new hard drive with the
intent of upgrading to Office X Professional. This also
happend with Pagemaker.
I'm trying to get my registered product code (like Adobe
provided) but Microsoft says I have to buy the full NEW
copy -- an extra $225 or so! I understand wanting to
protect against piracy but I registered the copy --- look
it up --- like Adobe did. I also have a PC Office 2001
copy with disk and everything but Microsoft said that's
not transferable or enough to give me a new product code.
I really feel this is not fair especially since I'm trying
to spend more money with them. Any thoughts or suggestions
would be appreciated.
