PRODUCT KEY

I got a new acer laptop, which came with microsoft word 2007 already
installed. When I would open it, it suggested entering in the Product key,
but said it was unnecessary at the time...so i ignored it, and now it is
locked and will not let me use it. When I tried to enter in the product key,
it said it was the incorrect key. I know that this key is right because it is
located on the computer and i have tried various times. How can i fix this in
order to fully activate Microsoft word?

What you received is a trial version of Word. The product key you are
attempting to enter is for the operating system as it plainly says for
Microsoft Windows Operating System somewhere on the sticker on the bottom or
back of the computer. Your trial software was pre-activated by the
manufacturer and now that it is expired you will have to purchase it.
Recommend purchasing retail version instead of an activation code through
Microsoft. If you purchase the retail version (amazon.com normally has the
best prices) uninstall the trial version and any activation assistant then
reboot the computer prior to installing the paid for version.
