I have two original copies of Microsoft Office 2003 with 2 different product
keys (of course!). One I have reinstalled on a new Vista PC for my son after
removing it from his old PC. The other is for installation on a Windows XP
PC. Problem is I inadvertently placed the two titles together and a week
after installation of the first I forgot which was installed on my son's PC.
Since the cases look exactly alike except for the Product Key on the back I
can't remember which one was installed.
How can I find the product key of the installed version? All I can find in
the Registry and the Office itself is the Product ID, not the Key. Since the
installed version has been activated and prefer not to uninstall and
re-install again and go through the hazzle of updating the service pack as
well. Microsoft Support gave a method to change the Key through the Registry
but that still didn't give me the current Product Key.
Appreicate any helpful advice. Thanks.
