program closes

Word 2003 keeps closing within the first few moments of opening then asks to
send an error report. This happens with anything that i open on word without
me pressing anything once the program is open. I think it may be something to
do with a printer not being connected, and if it is how do I combat this
problem without connecting the printer?

I doubt that it's a printer connection issue. More likely, it's corrupted
registry entries or a corrupted normal.dot file. Try the steps shown here:
