Program integration plan

Any recommendations or a template to create and track at program level,
project integration points?

Project 1 needs a service / feed (integration point) from project 2 by
12/31/09 to start integration testing and must have service / feed available
for PROD by 1/21/10.

There would be multiple integration points across multiple projects within
the program.

thank you -

I know this is the desktop client newsgoup, but that's pretty much what
Microsoft Project Server is designed for, specifically the deliverables
functionality.

Depending on your needs, you might opt for a small, limited deployment to
use in tracking project "gives" and "gets."

We use a sectin in each Project file called Givers and another called
Receivers. It is a "poor man's Project Server" if you will.
In Project 1 list as "Givers" all the end products the Project1 file
produces that leave the file and go to someone else. These are milestones
that have predecesors only that come from "deep within the file"

In the Receivers section, you list milestones (without predecessors) of all
the itmes you need from others. So, when you actually recieve "Item 4" from
the ProjectABC team, you can mark this receiver complete and it will trigger
your ability to commense the successor activities that are now "deep in your
file." In this case, it would be OK to key a date you expect to receive the
"receiver". However, the real way to do that would be to link the Givers and
Receivers in the form of external links and a Master/Subproject file
scenario.

A separate spread sheet can be maintained of the negotiated dates for all
givers and receivers. However, Project Server (or at least a
Master/Subproject file architecture) does a much better job of this.
