Program Manager Approval Question

I am looking for the ability to approve project activity
from multiple project managers. Let me explain. I would
like to have my project managers be able to do
preliminary approval(first level) then the request for
time approval come to me for final approval(second
level). I seem to recall this being available, am I
dreaming?

Thanks!

I am assuming that you are using Project Server 2002 or 2003. In order to
enable multi-level approval of task updates from team members, you must
first assign the respective project manager to each task. On the View My
Tasks page in PWA, each PM would then delegate the task to the correct
resource and select the "Assume the lead role" option while delegating the
task.

Once done, task updates from the will appear on the respective PM's View My
Tasks page. If the PM approves the update, he/she can simply click the
Update Selected Tasks button to submit the task updates to you for final
approval. If the PM needs to reject the task update, however, there is no
automatic method within Project Server to do this, so he/she will need to
contact the resource by e-mail, phone, or in person to state that the update
is faulty and direct the resource how to correct it. Hope this helps.
