'Program must be installed to run' message with Word 97

Hello,

I have Office 97 Pro. I went through the setup program and installed all
the Office components. Whenever I try to launch Microsoft Word, I get
'This program must be installed to run' message. All the other office
programs (Excel, Powerpoint) work fine. I have tried uninstalling,
reinstalling, add/removing components multiple times without any change. I
have Windows 98 SE.

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide,
