programmatically adding resource to PWA group

Through the PDS you can add a resource to the Enterprise Resource pool. We
would like to also add that user to the appropriate user group in PWA
(Project Manager, Executive, etc). It doesn't appear that the PDS supports
this natively - at least I can't see that it does. Am I missing someting?

We are thinking of writing a PDS extender that will call some SQL to update
the necessary tables in the database, but we're wondering if there is
already some other automated way to do this, or a built-in stored procedure.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or any ideas?
