Programmatically compact DB

Is there a way to programmatically compact the DB? I
created my toolbars
and NOT showing the Access toolbars, but I would like to
programmatically
compact the DB on DB closing...is it possible? Thanks

There is a Compact-On-Close option in Access 2000 or later.

Could you tell me where I can find the coding for it? I
don't want to display Access' toolbars. Thanks

For Access 2000 through 2003 you can compact the current database. Put the
code found here:

in a standard module and call it from a command button by setting the on
click property to:

=CompactDB()

In Access 2K, Select the tools/Options menu and, select the General
tab. In the lower left corner of the form check the the Compact on
close check box.

Once this is done, close all the menus, rehide the menu bar. Your app
will compact on close automatically each time there-after.
