programs don't look right...

I just recently installed microsoft office ultimate 2007. I purchased the
software online, but used the discs they sent to install it on my computer.
After sucessfully installing all of the programs and running windows update
immediately afterward, all of my programs run fine, except they all look
strange. Like the graphics are missing (the colors for the ribbon, the icons
are all simplistic and ugly, etc.) Here's a link to how Word looks like:

I can't seem to figure out why it looks this way. If anyone can tell me how
i can fix it i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
(ps. if it helps any, i had the 2003 version of office already pre-installed
on my computer before upgrading)

Hi Kristy,

If you've changed the color choices in
Office File Button=>Word Option=>Popular
without success and if you are not using dual monitors you may want to look into one of these possibilities:

A. Display: Color settings should be set higher than '256'.
Check to see what Theme settings you have.

B. Accessibility: Display High Contrast should be unchecked.

C. System: Hardware=>Device Manager:
Display Driver - If SMS Remote Control Agent is present
disable it then restart your PC.
(If this one worked, did you have installed or use any
sort of Remote 'help desk' type of software?)

D. Check the website for the manufacturer of your
graphics card to look for an updated driver.

Thanks so much for your reply! I tried all of those things, and they didn't
work... but then while checking my display (i have a windows xp sony vaio), i
noticed that the color scheme that word loaded was following that of the
style assigned to my windows IF it was in classic display mode, not xp.
Although my computer was running all my other programs fine with my silver xp
color scheme, office programs were not. So I simply tried changing my color
scheme back to the default xp blue, then loaded word once more, and it was
all fixed! All my office programs look awesome again! That sure was a weird
little glitch.
