progress bar for photo upload?

I'm trying to find out how to add a progress bar into my frontpage file
upload form. There's no way for users to know how long it'll take to upload
photos and some are having issues with that. It would be great to be able to
see when the photos will be uploaded. I've found software online that says
it can do this, however they all seem to be WAY over my head. Also, they
wouldn't be able to continue sending me email's after uploads telling me who
uploaded what, which is what it does now. Does anyone know of a simple, or
at least more simple way of displaying some type of progress indicator to let
users know how far along their photo upload is? Thanks for the help.

You can not modify the FP File Upload component, you would have to use a 3rd Party Server-Side
upload component.
