progress line - progress point

S

soe soe

i have a summary task which contains two tasks;
task-1 10-Apr to 17-Apr 100% complete
task-2 20-May to 25-May 0% complete
when I draw progress line on 18-May, the progress point of summary task goes
to 17-Apr which, in managers' view, is late. I want to show the summary
progress point (red-dot) to 20-May instead.
How can I do it?

Project is reporting What you have told it: Progress is at end of first
task. Until Task 2 starts that is where it will stay. You can set 1%
progress on task 2 but that isn't true.

Finally, I recommend you never use Progress Lines! Much, much better is to
save a baseline, then change your tasks to reflect what actually happens. If
a task starts late or early, set its Actual start date then % complete or
better yet Actual duration and remaining duration. That way the schedule
stays more real and next week has the tasks you need to do next week. With
this method the progress lines are always on today's date and hence are not
useful.
