Progress Lines Go Back to 1984

My project start date is in 2004. Yet, when I display the progress lines,
they go back to 1984. What's up with that?

I have to delete each task and reinsert it in again. That means color
coding, bars, everything.......HELP!

Just to clarify, which "progress lines" are you referring to? Project
2003 has a new feature, (not sure if if was first introduced in Project
2002), that allows the user to draw what we used to call a "line of
balance". It is found under, Tools/Tracking/Progress Lines. The more
traditional progress lines are those showing horizontal progress on the
Gantt bars.

If the progress lines you refer to are the former, make sure the "Begin
at" is set for the Project Start and not the "beginning of time" in
Project's view of the world (i.e. 1/1/1984).
