Robert

Hello,
The resource entered some Actual Work in his Timesheet on an Activity. Then
Automatic Approval by the system.
But when the Administrator looks at the progress on this activity in the
Work Details page, the progress is still 0%.
Why?
Thanks for your help

The team member and the PM of the Activity plan are missing two very
important steps. First of all, the team member must navigate to the My
Tasks page and import the My Timesheet information for the Activity plan
work, and then submit this update to his/her PM. The PM must then go to the
Task Updates page and approve the work update on the Activity plan. Then,
and only then, will the % Work Complete number be updated to its current
status in the Activity plan. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Dale,
But I understood that the aim of the Activity feature in 2007 was to avoid
the use of Project Pro tasks to follow up such ongoing activities (LOE)
which are not schedulable. I was wrong?
So, what is the diffference between a project Task and an Activity?
Thanks again

Yes, you were wrong, but don't be too hard on yourself. An Activity plan is
used to plan and manage opened ended work which has no finish date, while an
enterprise project is used to manage work that has a finish date. In either
an Activity plan or an enterprise project, there are tasks to which the
manager assigns resources. The tasks from both of these appear on the My
Tasks page, and optionally the My Timesheet page as well. In order to
status the tasks in either an Activity plan or an enterprise project, the
team member must update the progress manually on the My Tasks page, or
import the progress from the My Timesheet page, and then submit the progress
for approval. So, in retrospect, I guess you were way off in your
assumption. :) Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Dale,
As always, yours explanations are clear!
Actually, I expected something more simple to track Activities :-(
Thanks again
