Progressing Using Accumulative "S" Curves

Andrew

I would like to produce a progress report based on planned % vs actual %
shown as an "S" curve. I can use customised fields with formulas to calculate
the planned %, but I cannot see how to produce an "S" curve. - Any ideas ?? I
do not want to export to an excel file as I do this now and I find it time
consuming, and I want to set up a central reporting system which anyone can
use. Thanks in advance :)

Andrew,
Well I hate to disappoint you but Project's graphics capabilities do not
include an S-curve. The only real option you have is to export to Excel
(or some other application). However, it sounds like you may be doing
that manually and I would agree, that is time consuming. A much better
approach would be to use VBA. A macro could automate the process and
could also be made available to other users.

Fellow MVP, Rod Gill already has a macro for exporting and creating
S-curves. You can access his webpage at:
http://www.msproject-systems.com/microsoft-project-macros

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,

I'm afraid Project doesn't have the graphing capability that Excel does.
Short of exporting to an Excel file, I don't believe there is an answer
in Project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Buy an add on from SAFRAN called "Safran for Microsoft Project". See
www.safran.no.

This will help you with s-curves, earned value, stacked histograms for
resources and much more

Guys and Girls

I really appreciate your help - I had guessed that MSP would not do what I
was after, but kind of hoped I was wrong. I will look into both ideas and
report back.

Again thanks for the assistance

Regards

Andrew :)
