Proj 98 Can't advance dates past 2003

I have just created a new project that will start on Oct
15th and continue on through the end of next year. When
I put a task in and try to enter a date past the end of
this year Project reverts back to 2003. It will not let
me enter dates past December 2003. If I pull up the task
and click on the drop down arrow to access the calendar,
and then click on the advance arrow on the calendar it
will take my up to December and then when January comes
up it does not go to 2004 but reverts back to 2003.

It would seem that I have something set incorrectly or
that Proj 98 doesn't support dates beyond 2003. What is
confusing is that when I look at the Gantt chart view the
heading dates do appear for 2004 and on.

I checked the fiscal year and that was fine. The Gantt
chart portion of the project is also fine and it reflects
the correct dates for 2004. Its creating tasks with the
correct dates that is causing me trouble. If I enter a
new task it will automatically use the start date of the
project which is fine. Then when I go in to adjust that
start date to reflect the actual start date of that task
is will only let me use dates from 2003 and not 2004.
IE. I want to create a task for Jan 15, 2004. No matter
what I try the drop down calendar that comes up only
shows 2003 months. If I increment it to go past December
2003 what I should see is January 2004 but I don't. I
see January 2003.

That's most odd - it certainly goes to the next year on mine. Have you
tried, in the drop-down calendar, clicking on the year ie the 2003 and use
the spin control to go to 2004? If that doesn't work, it would suggest to
me some corruption. Try a new project, new PC, an old project - experiment
to find out whether it is the project at fault, Project or the PC.
