Proj Server 2003 seems to "forget" PsComPlus Settings

I got a strange issues time by time. The project server seems to forget the
PSComPlus settings. The system is a Win2003 with IIS 6.0, WSS SP2 and
Project Server 2003 SP2a. All components installed in English [EN-US]
language settings.

When I navigate to Documents/ Risks/ Issues I get an error message like
this: "There is a problem establishing the connection with the Web Server
running Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator."

The work-around to re-registrate the PsComPlus settings helps to keep the
system running. But I do not have any ideas why the information get lost. I
takes weeks or months till the issues pops up again, but I do not get any
information about that unless the annoyed users send e-mails. Major/ minor
system changes like security updates and so on have not been performed.

Any ideas to keep the useres happy?

Hi Jim,

this may be a stap in the dark, but could it by that your Service Accounts
are set up to change their password every 60 or 90 days? If so than it would
explain why you would get the error message every coupleof month. If this is
the case you may want to change the setting, that the password never expires
for your Service accounts. I would assume that this would rectify the issue.
Hope this helps
