Project 2000/Global Template for Many PMs

Without the benefit of the enterprise version, I would like to implement a customized table view for all project managers in a department. The procedure needs to work easily or seamlessly for existing projects as well as new projects. Applying the table to one project at a time through the Organizer is not a good solution. Any other suggestions?

Open a new blank project and copy the custom Table into the project. Save
and close the project and e-mail it to everyone. Ask them to open the
project and to use the Organizer to copy the custom Table into their
Global.mpt file. Once done, the custom Table will be available in every
current and future project. Hope this helps.

Any time you modify that particular custom Table, you can simply e-mail the
latest copy to everyone in a blank project. When someone new joins the
company or someone begins using Microsoft Project for the first time, I
would simply follow this process. At some point down the road, you might
want to consider a Project Server implementation, as you could create the
table in one location (the Enterprise Global file) and everyone would
automatically have access to it the next time they log into Project Server
with Microsoft Project Professional. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I think this is a good quick solution. Do you have any
suggestions for new project managers, or for new installs?

My thoughts exactly but always looking for the "magic bullet". Thanks for all your assistance.

That's what I thought but I thought I would look for the "magic bullet" anyway. Thanks for your help.
