Project 2002 Task creation issue

B

Brian

I am trying to figure out the best way to have Project
automatically place a specific task on a day of week. For
example:

Task A begins on Monday, October 20 and is 82 hours in
duration. I have 2 resources that are working 8 hour days
Monday through Friday. The end date for Task A is on
Monday, October 27.

Task B must start after Task A finishes, but it also must
start on the Sunday following the completion of Task A.
So, Task B in the scenario above should be forced to start
on Sunday, November 2. If I add a resource to Task A,
then Task A will finish in the middle of the week of
October 20 so task B should start on Sunday, October 26.

Is there a way to have Project setup this type of scenario?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Yes. Create a milestone (zero duration task) and link it between the 2
tasks. Now create a Calendar with Sundays as the only working day. Now, in
Project/task Information/Advanced tab, assign that calendar to the
milestone.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)
