Project 2003 and WSS/SPS

Greetings,

I have a question.

I have been asked to support a project dealing with the collaboration of
Project 2003 server and SharePoint 2003 WSS/SPS.

We are currently having a problem with accessing the portal.

On the Connect to SharePoint server screen under the ADMIN function with the
Project W2K3 server it asks for a SharePoint Central Admin URL and a Create a
site under this SharePoint URL.

Well, the problem is this, when we try to create a site under SharePoint URL
it gives the error message of Project Server cannot connect to the specified
Web server running Windows SharePoint Services. Please check the HTTP
protocols and the port numbers in both URLs.

If I click on the link to test it before I click on save it will open up the
Project site. If I test the URL for site admin it works.

I don't understand why I am getting this error message if the links work
fine when I test them.

Could anyone please offer some input? Thanks.
