Project 2003 Clients cannot connect to Project Server

Hi,

I installed the Project 2003 Server on a Small Business Server 2003 for a
customer (The only server in the company, so all the nessesarry services:
- Sql-Server SP4
- IIS
- Sharepoint Services (latest SP)
- Project Server itself

I followed exactly the installation instructions (except the olap/analysis
part, because it is not needed).
After the installation I encountered an error, when accessing Project
Server Web-Interface Pages with a grid on it.
I solved this problem with a hint from the KB saying I should create a
whole new website with sharepoint support for the Project Server.

Now my problem is that the Project 2003 Clients cannot connect to the
server.
In the profile wizard I added the correct url of the project-server
(http://servername:8083/ProjectServer) and the test succeded (a messagebox
which said that on this url is an installation of the project server) but
if I try to log in (it doesn't matter if I use windows authentification or
project users I added in the web-interface before) I get this error:
microsoft project was unable to establish a connection with the selected
Microsoft Project Server. This could be caused by a loss of network
connectivity, invalid username or password, lack of an enterprise global
template, problems withe the Microsoft Project Server or database, or your
Microsoft Project Server may not have enterprise features enabled.

- network is fone
- username and passowrd are ok
- I think I have no enterprise global template. Because I could't log in
and upload one. But i read that it is not nessasary and should work
without.
- enterprise features are enabled

So I think it is a problem with the database. But I configured (for
testing purpose) all domain members to grant full access to the database.
Nothing happend.

Any solutions? Or if not? Is there a way to debug the problem? Maybe some
log-files or so. I found nothing in the eventlog.
Please answer soon, I have to solve this problem today or I get in big
trouble.

Thanks a lot and greetings from germany

Take out the port and try it...if that doesn't work, replace the
computername:port with the IP of the site. Let me know what you get.

Hi

I got this problem while I am trying to install project server in Greece.

I discovered it was related to the language settings in the machine. Make it
english and try, I guess you have it German. There is an article in Microsoft
about this issue. Search about it.

Thanks
Mohammad
