Project 2003 - need to enter Remaining Work in PWA Adjust Actuals page

Question: Does anyone know of a way to expose Remaining Work (for
entering a Remaining Work value) within the PWA Adjust Actuals page?

Background:
We have implemented Project Server 2003 including a custom Invoicing
Application that utilizes Project 2003 Timesheet actual hours to drive
billing.

We have a need for our client to utilize "Adjust Actuals" so the
Project Manager can REDUCE the number of timesheet Actual Work Hours
(after the timesheet period is "closed") on a "Billable" Task when a
"Write Off" situation occurs.

(Side Note: so true task actual effort is not lost, we intended to
apply "Write Off" hours to a new "Write Off" Task).

While the Project 2003 PWA Timesheet page allows for setting
"Remaining Work", I've found the Adjust Actuals page does NOT allow
for setting "Remaining Work". I need the ability to set Remaining
Work within the Adjust Actuals page. Without the ability to set
Remaining Work there, the client is required to utilize an
unacceptable 3 step process to accomplish a "Write Off" on a single
task.
