Project 2003 - Project Guide possible VBA error

L

Lance

When I open Project 2003 Pro I get the following:
The file "msprj.olb" cannot be found or contains a
Visual Basic for Applications library that is not valid.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled both Project and Office 2003 Pro to no avail.
I have Visual Studio 2005 load on the same machine along with the VS 2005
Office Developer Tools.

Does anyone know whether the VS 2005 stuff is loading a VBA library that
conflicts with the Project 2003 Pro file MSPRJ.OLB? Is so, what are my
options for fixing the Project Guide.

Thanks in advance,
Lance

Hi Lance,

msprj.olb is the typelib of the Project professional.
From the error, it seems that this file or certain typelib referenced by
the file is missing or mismatch.

Since you have tried to uninstall/reinstall all the office stuff, I suggest
you tried to restart the machine and disable all the addin in Project
Professional without loading VS.NET 2005 or other stuff.

If the problem still persists, I think you may need to contact MSPSS
because it seems that the underlying windows system file is corrupted or
mismatch. It is hard to do such troubleshooting for whole machine
environment in newsgroup.

Also if possible, I suggest you reinstall the whole machine.

If you still have any concern, please feel free to post here.

Best regards,

Peter Huang
