Project 2003 & sharepoint for the simple

B

Hi everyone. I know there are a great deal of posts concern integration b/w
project 2003 and sharepoint. But i am having trouble understanding.

We have a sharepoint server established that our company uses with suchs
things like InfoPath. We are looking to move to project management software
and are interested in Project 2003.

Can the two be intergrated? When project 2003 asks to set upa project
server, is it refering to sharepoint or something else? If the two can be
interegrated, how do I go about accomplishing that task?

For the part in project where is asks me to "enter the URL for the company's
project" I enter "http://sp.healthstrategies.com/" which is our sharepoint
site. When I test the connection, I get "unexpected server reponse error"
which, when I view opens up sharepoint and says " The following file(s) have
been blocked by the administrator: /isapi/pjdbcomm.dll". Thanks for any help
that can be provided!!!

One thing you definitely don't want to do, is connect Project Server to an
existing WSS or SPS site that your company is using for other purposes. One
thing you do want to do, is download the installation guide and read it
end-to-end, before you do damage that could cost you your job.

It's very possible for you to use your company's existing SharePoint server,
however you'll want to extend a new virtual server in IIS to do this.
Again, you need to follow the installation guide carefully. This
documentation is very good.

The url requested by Project 2003 is a url of your companies Project server.
It appears you are entering a SharePoint URL.

Project Server uses WSS to store and link issues. risks and documents not
for the Project information. You need to install Project Server on a server
for this to work.
