Any command line switch to quietly upgrade Project 2003 Std to Pro? I tried
/qn and it uninstalled Std and half installed Pro. It show as installed but
none of the components show as installed when I tried add/remove change
installation.

Thx.

John:

It's my understanding that you need to uninstall one, and then install the
other. They're separate applications with the only difference being that PRO
version connects to Project Server. Standard Edition cannot play in the EPM
space. So, unless you're implementing Project Server, you might as well stay
with Standard.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we do have a Project Server. I am updating all
systems to Project Pro SP2. However, there are some Project Std systems
still out there.
It would be nice to automate a single process for all systems. The silent
install works fine with the Pro 2003 systems but fails as noted with Std
2003 systems. When you run the Pro install interactively on a system that
has Std on it, the installation is smart enough to recognize Std is install
and can uninstall it and install Project Pro 2003. My question is does
anybody know how to do this from the command line.

I figured it out. I was making things more complicated than they needed to
be.

My issue was caused by trying to patch Std to Pro. Once I ran setup /i
everything works.
