Project 2003 Task - Reminder in Outlook

Hi,

I am using Project 2003 and would like to set a reminder for a task as I did
in previous versions. I don't need anything else, such as e-mailing, etc.,
just the reminder set in Outlook.

I used to select the task and click the Reminder button on the Workgroups
toolbar, but can't even see the Workgroups toolbar anymore.

Hi Dee,

I don't know if you can get just the reminder portion without using the
assign resources functions through the Workgroup message handler.

The Workgroup message handler is not installed as a default component of MS
Project 2003. The following knowledge base article details the download and
registry edit directions to enable the feature in Project 2003.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

thanks for your response.

I was hoping to avoid this. Does anyone know if there is a more simple
solution?

Thanks!

Hi Dee,

You're welcome. For an alternative to the workgroup message handler, see a
post titled "Exporting to Outlook" on March 12, 2005 specifically the macro
posted by Maurice Birchler. Search this newsgroup for "Birchler Outlook"
and you should happen on it fairly quickly.

I have not tried the macro but perhaps his code will help.

Hope this helps.
