Project 2003 upgrade

I am teaching Project and the college selected the Step
by Step book for 2003.
I was surprise to find that in this version I could not
Outdent anymore...Looked bad for me and Microsoft. My
students are not impress.
I did find the update that night.(being a former Network
admin...)
Nevertheless, I now discovered that the update gives me
this message: "expected version of the product was not
found". My group is still not impress and I really don't
think that they will be asking their employer (The
Federal Government to by this... Software.
So, if anyone out their can help with a patch allowing
this MICROSOFT PRESS software to work I would greatly
appreciate it.

Relax. It's a bug. Identified and fixed months ago. Discussed in this
newsgroup. I even recall it was first identified, discussed, and nailed
down as bug in this news group. Patch (which I presume works with the
tiral versio) available through normal means on Microsoft's web site.

Suggestion: in addition to teaching how to use the software, you should
also consider teaching your students how to use software products, e.g.
how there is need to identify root-causes of problems ("me or the
product"), how to seek help/adice from peers and the vendor, how to seek
and apply patches, the role of newgroup forusm like this vs. Microsoft
Support, etc. I fear all this not discussed in your course. Too bad.
