Project 2003 will not stay open

I have microsoft 2007 office applications. I just got a new hard drive so i
tried to reinstall my project 2003 soft ware. However, everytime I try to
start it, an error message comes up saying, "sorry for the inconvenience but
project has to shut down." I downloaded the 2003 project service pak 3 but,
it still will not work. Does anyone have an idea on this one?

Hi Troy,

Are you using Norton Security? If so, disable the Office plug-in.
Search this newsgroup for multiple postings on fairly recent
problems between Project and Norton.

Actually no. I am using Panda. Do you have any suggections for that?

Hi Troy,

Sorry, no I don't know of any issues between Project and the Panda
security software.

There may be an issue of trying to install the older version of
Project on top of Office 2007. Usually the suggestion is to install
the oldest software (Project 2003) and then the newest. I assume
you have administrator rights to install software to your computer?

Make sure you have the ability to re-install Office 2007 (have the
disk and keys available) and try to repair the installation of
Project.
