Project 2007 and 2003 compatibility?

A client and I have decided to use MS Project to manage a complex project
that we are working on together. They want to purchase MSP 2007 for their
office, but I can only use MSP 2003 in my office due to PC system limitations
at my end. (I have worked with MSP 98 before; while not an expert I am
reasonably proficient).

1) What are the most common issues that will come up if I use MSP 2003 and
they use MSP 2007 when we work back and forth on the same data file? Are
there any workarounds?
2) They are using a Mac, and said that they will install MSP on the "Windows
side" of the Mac. Will MSP install and work on their Mac?

Thanks!

Carol,

1) 2003 and 2007 versions are not directly compatible : You client will have
to Save as...Project type : 2003.
No problem in the reverse order.

2) Yes, MSP will install on the "Windows side" of their Mac which is
probably a software such as Virtual PC.

Hope this helps,

I have two versions of MS Project - MS Project 2003 on an XP machine and MS
Project 2007 on a Vista machine. I have created a number of projects in MS
Project 2007 and have Saved As ... Project 2000 - 2003, but cannot open them,
or view them using MS Project 2003. I cannot find any kind of upgrade
component or patch to resolve this. Does anyone know of one?
