Project 2007 and Vista 64-bits

Hey

I used to get this error message when connecting to Project Server from
Project Professional 2007:
"Login failed, project could not connect to the server"

I fixed this problem by deleting the contents of the cache folder and
updating Project Professional 2007 to latest version (12.0.6211.1000). Then
I had to login to PWA before I started Project Professional.... then the
problem was solved - I run winXP pro

PROBLEM
There is another person here who are using Vista 64-bit and he gets the same
error message. I deleted the contents of the cache folder and updated
Project Professional to version 12.0.6211.1000. I've let him login to PWA
and then start Project Professional 2007... but he stills get the error
message

Yes this user is member of Administrators... he has the same permissions as
me

I feel a bit lost here, I'm not sure what to do here.... I haven't applied
SP1 of Office Server yet. I hoped to avoid it because I then have to apply
sp1 of wws 3.0 and sp1 of MOSS 2007.. Well, I don't think applying sp1 will
guarantee this problem is solved... what should I do?

any suggestions on how to solve this is greatly welcome

You can run SP1 on the client without having applied it to the server ! This
IS a supported and tested scenario.

installing SP1 didn't help either... so I suspect I have to install sp1 of
Project Server 2007 (which also need wss 3.0 sp1 and moss 2007 sp1)

any thoughts about this?
