project 2007 application deployment

Hi,
We are trying to deploy project 2007 meduim farm installation. documentation
says that after application server 1's deployement create application server
2 and use existing farm(server1's farm). my question is that in this case if
server 1 goes down entrire system will go down ?any help...

Thanks a lot for your reply.
but i sm still confused if a farm is created in server A and server A goes
down due to any failure how the farm which is created on this server will be
active? am i taking any thing wrong in concepts for farms?
