Project 2007 crashes in resource pool

Craig Vaughan

Hi,

I have a resource pool file that becomes unstable when I change from
resource list view to resource usage view. Once I start to scroll through
the list MP closes. I've read the FAQ which suggests saving as a project
database and then reopening the file and resaving as a project file however
2007 is not giving me the option of saving as an *.mdb file. Anyone out have
a workaround for this?

Thanks,

CAV

Hello Craig,

As you note, saving as an mdb file is not longer possible. You could try
saving the file as XML and then opening the XML file in Project. You'll need
to reconnect all of the sharer files.

Please also check the new project file carefully as there were some early
reports of maximum units being altered.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,

Thanks for the help. Do I have to convert all of the linked files to XML
format in order to re-establish the pool relationship and then import the XML
master project file back into Project?

Hello Craig,

Assuming the corruption is only the the Pool file, I'd just start
there with the save as XML. Then re-attach each sharer file, test, and
check for stability. Add each sharer file back, testing in between to
confirm all is well.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
