Project 2007 Interface

My company is considering to roll out Project Server 2007.

One gripe many users have is that MS Project has so many options that they
do not use, they 'get lost' in the application.

is there a way to simplify the interface by turning off views & options for
example?

Help much appreciated,

A struggling TexasTonie

There is no way to simplify the Project Professional 2007 interface. All of
the tools in the user interface are there for a reason and provide specific
funtionality that your PM's may actually need to use without knowing it. If
your PM's are getting "lost" in the application, this is a strong reason for
putting them through formal training on how to properly use Project
Professional 2007 and Project Server 2007 to plan and manage enterprise
projects. Hope this helps.

You can remove some features by turning them off, and you can remove items
from the Quick Launch menu. For instance, if you do not plan to use
Timesheets, it is very easy to make them disappear from the system. Can you
be specific about the troublesome items? Like Dale says, removing some of
these may be detrimental to your system.

Dale, thanks: fair comment on training (we don't have the luxury to 'push'
too much though, we need to pick our fights). We are thinking of using
standardized web forms to update information in the Project Server DB (our
projects are simple, long-running (6 months to a year) with 2-5 staff
each(~120 Live projects total), not much change happens during the project).
You give us any luck with that? (we definitely want to use the Timesheets,
and of course fully integrate with SharePoint).
